EYESON CONGO 
An explosion accompanied by warning shots caused panic on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in Funu, Kadutu commune, during a rally held by Mayor Byamungu Kazimiri, representing the AFC/M23.
The rally, held in front of the Funu field in the Cimpunda neighbourhood, was disrupted when an explosive device was reportedly thrown near the podium, without causing any casualties.
The explosion caused panic. According to several witnesses, warning shots were fired by the personnel present to disperse the crowd. This confusion reportedly led to the loss of numerous goods belonging to merchants located near the field.
Another incident was also reported: the mayor’s vehicle struck a man, killing him instantly. A wall of the Heri Kwetu Centre, located near the accident scene, was also reportedly damaged.
