Clashes between the FARDC and the coalition of armed groups in the Fizi territory, caused a massive displacement of the population.

There was a significant population shift in the area five days ago as a result of the recent clashes between the FARDC and the coalition of Twirwaneho-Red Tabara-M23 armed groups in Rugezi, in the High and Middle Plateaux of the Fizi territory. According to the Fizi territory’s administrator, certain households are now in charge of running Uvira.

According to information not verified by official sources, the Wazalendo classified these displaced people heading toward Uvira as being a part of the rebel movements on Fizi’s high and medium platforms.
