
A fire devastated a large portion of Pavilion 3 at the Kintambo General Reference Hospital in Kinshasa during the night of Saturday, June 21 to Sunday, June 22, 2025.
No fatalities have been reported, but the material damage is significant.
After an assessment on Monday, June 23, regarding the aftermath of this fire, it was reported by local medical sources that all rooms in the pavilion, except for two, were completely burned. This pavilion housed meeting rooms, offices for doctors and nurses, as well as patient wards.
An investigation is underway to ascertain the causes of the fire. Access to the pavilion remains blocked for the time being. However, normal activities resumed on Monday in the rest of the hospital, according to the same sources.
